SRS Warning Lamp Illuminated
If you encounter instances in the above model where the SRS warning lamp is illuminated and a fault code of B1863 (Belt Pretensioner Driver's Side
Resistance Too High), and/or B1864 (Belt Pretensioner Passenger's Side Resistance Too High) is stored in the Airbag Control Module, perform the
following procedure.
Note:
Both driver's and passenger's ETR (Emergency Tensioning Retractor) connectors need to be replaced. The following procedure describes the driver's
side. In order to replace the passenger side connector X28/9, the exact procedure must be followed except that the passenger side seat will need
removal.
1)
Remove the driver's seat and tip rearwards (Figure 1). Reference WIS document AR91.10-P-1000R.
2)
Ensure that both batteries (Starter and Consumer) are disconnected. Reference WIS document AR54.10-P-0003R.
3)
Locate the yellow ETR electrical connector X28/8 driver side or X28/9 passenger side (Figure 2).
4)
Detach ETR wire harness from seat bracket.
5)
Unplug ETR connectors.
6)
Cut old connectors from harness one at a time (approximately 20 mm from end of connector).
Note:
When installing new connectors observe the individual wire colors in order to maintain correct connector orientation.
