Cut terminal 11 and 4 circuit approximately 100 mm from the end of the socket connector (Figure 2).

Strip approximately 15 mm from the end of the 2 cut steering column module wires.

Cut each piece of the wire harness repair section kit (P/N 000 540 47 05) approximately 115 mm from the end of the socket connector (Figure 2).

Strip approximately 15 mm from the cut end of the wire harness repair kit.

Note: 

Twist the 15 mm stripped ends of the repair section and the main wire harness together prior to soldering.

Using a solder connector, connect the repair section wire to the main harness. Reference WIS document AR00.19-P-0100-09A.

Install the repaired terminal 11 and 4 sockets into the steering column module connector.

Note: 

Ensure that during reassembly, terminal 11 and terminal 4 circuits are correctly positioned and locked within the steering column module connector.

Wrap the steering column module wire harness with electrical tape.

Reverse steps 2 - 8 for reassembly.

19)

Using STAR Diagnosis perform a "Short Test", and erase all stored diagnostic fault codes.

20)

Using STAR Diagnostic normalize the vehicle's electrical system. Refer to WIS document AR54.10-P-0003R.

21)

Using the steering wheel adjustment stalk, move the steering wheel through its full range of motion, and verify that the SRS lamp does not
illuminate.
