Reason for block

Complaint:

SRS lamp lights up.

Fault code B1859 + B1860 stored in airbag control unit.

Cause:

Resistance at steering column tube module connector (14-pin) (N80) of driver airbag ignition circuit too high.

Remedy:

Disconnect electrical lines from frame floor system (FFS) to steering column module (N80) connector and replace with repair lines. Perform repair as
per AR 00.19-P-0100 09A.

Remedy: Replace airbag line to steering column module.

1. Remove steering angle sensor (AR 46.10-P-0300I)

2. Unclip the electrical connector N80 on the steering column tube

3. Remove cover under instrument panel on left (AR 68.10-P-1500R)

4. Cut off line to Pin 11 (BNYE), Pin 12 (BU) and line to Pin 4 (YE) approx. 160mm after the connector (14-pin) of the frame floor system (FFS) wiring
harness to the steering column tube (N80) and unpin from steering column tube module connector. Slide back the flexible cable set jacket and fix in
place for this purpose.

5. Strip approx. 15 mm off repair lines. Connect lines using solder connectors and pin into line to connector N80. (AR00.19-P-0100A)

6. Reinstall removed parts and erase fault memory after completing repair.
