Component Identification

Design

The front passenger seat occupied and child seat recognition sensor (B48) consists of a sensor mat integrated into the seat area on the front passenger
seat with attendant electronic analysis system (2).
The sensor mat contains the following components:

^

Pressure sensing resistors (1)

^

Two transmitting antennas (4) (left and right)

^

Two receiving antennas (5) (left and right for detection of a child seat)

The track-shaped layout of the pressure sensing resistors (1) covers the entire seat surface. The left and right-hand halves of the sensor mat each have a
transmitter antenna (4) and a receiving antenna (5) stamped onto the resistor structure.
