Task of sensor in event of a crash

The vehicle-sensitive seat belt lock system (A60) constantly monitors the instantaneous acceleration and the vehicle's angle of inclination. If one of these
variables exceeds the maximum permitted value, the sensor will send a trigger signal over the left front seat adjustment control module with memory
(N32/1) or right front seat adjustment control module with memory (N32/2) to the left front seat belt lock electromagnetic actuator (Y96) or the right
front seat belt lock electromagnetic actuator (Y96/1) to lock each respective belt retractor.

Task of sensor when faults occur

The vehicle-sensitive seatbelt lock sensor (A60) constantly monitors itself and the control circuits of the front left seat belt lock adjusting solenoid (Y96)
and front right seat belt lock adjusting solenoid (Y96/1).

To achieve this, the vehicle-sensitive seatbelt lock sensor (A60) is connected to the control circuits via the left front seat adjustment control module with
memory (N32/1) and the right front seat adjustment control module with memory (N32/2). If it operates correctly, the vehicle-sensitive seatbelt lock
sensor (A60) sends a continuous signal (square-wave signal f = 3.5 Hz, 50 : 50 pulse-break ratio) to the left seat adjustment control module with memory
(N32/1) and the right seat adjustment control module with memory (N32/2).

If a fault occurs, the vehicle-sensitive seatbelt lock sensor terminates transmission of the permanent signal. The left front seat adjustment control module
with memory (N32/1) and the right front seat adjustment control module with memory (N32/2) interpret this as a fault in the system and send an error
message to the instrument cluster (A1).

The following faults are detected:

The vehicle-sensitive seatbelt lock sensor (A60) is defective.

Short circuit to positive or ground in the control circuit.

Open circuit in control circuit
