Remove retaining plate (B-Figure 21).

4.

Partially remove seal in corner area (Arrows Figure 21).

Do not remove seal.

5.

Completely remove old sealent. 

6.

Spray joint between sealing lip and rear window.

Use sealant gun and window sealant for dabbing. 

7.

Plug screw holes. Apply MB universal sealant.

8.

Reinstall in opposite order.

9.

Perform leakage test.

VIII. Penetration By Water Into Inside Corner of C-Pillar Area

VIII. Penetration by water into inside corner of C-pillar area

Cause 1: 

Seal for C-pillar to upper C-pillar leaky. 

Procedure: 

Seal C-pillar seal.

--> See VI. Penetration by water into area of paneling joint for inside of Vario roof and C-pillar

Cause 2: 

Outer C-pillar seal in C-pillar rail leaky.

Procedure: 

Seal bottom C-pillar seal (sealing base) to C-pillar rail.

Perform rain test.

2.

Move Vario roof to intermediate position and secure (See WIS-document AR77.50-P-3000-01R).
