Keyless Entry Receiver: Description and Operation

Purpose

Receive and amplify IR remote control signal
Filter out extraneous light. 
Optical display:

Vehicle unlocked or locked

Function

One of the three infrared remote control receivers for the left front door (A26/1), right front door (A26/2) or trunk lid (A26/3) (W129/140) or interior
rearview mirror (A26/7) (W202/210) when actuated transfers the infrared light signal from the IR control remote control key with transponder to the
infrared RCL control module (N54) via a control lead.

When the vehicle is locked the red indicator lamps in the infrared remote control (RCL) receiver actuated by the infrared RCL control module (N54)
flash; when the vehicle is unlocked the green indicator lamps flash.
