Convertible Top Deck Lid Strut: Service and Repair
Removal and installation of hydraulic cylinder for top compartment cover
Preliminary jobs:
Remove coupe roof (operating instructions).
Press side covering on the left side of the trunk to side, remove side covering on right, press covering on partition to side (remove spreading rivet).
Top ...................................................................................................................................................... unlock at front and put up top compartment cover.
Piston rod on top compartment cover .................................................................................................................................. remove (see installation note).
Retainer (d) ................................................ press down with screwdriver and press gas spring off of bolt (push top compartment cover sightly upward).
Retainer (c) ......................................................................................................................................................................... press off of hydraulic cylinder.
Hydraulic lines (a, b) .............................................................................................................................................................................................. remove.
Retainer (arrow) ............................................................................................................................................. press off with screwdriver and pull out bolt.
Hydraulic cylinder .................................................................................................................................................................................................. remove.
Install in opposite order (observe note)
Check for proper function and leakage.
NOTE: The hydraulic lines must be plugged immediately with plugs part no. 129 589 00 91 07, the connections on the hydraulic cylinder with plugs
part no. 129 589 00 91 11.
