Clamp the collet chuck at the upper grooves via the conical sleeve of the puller

e. Pull inner bearing race off rear axle shaft flange using pulling device and remove

5. Remove the two row angular ball bearing from wheel carrier as follows:

a. Remove snap ring retaining bearing to wheel carrier

b. Install puller/installer tool No. 124 589 05 43 00 or 140 589 08 43 00, or equivalents with attachments (08a, 08b, 08c and 08e) through

bearing as shown in the illustration

c. Pull bearing (8) from wheel carrier

INSTALLATION 

1. Assemble puller/installer tool with new bearing into wheel carrier as shown in the illustration
2. Pull two row angular ball bearing fully into wheel carrier
3. Insert locking snap ring into groove to retain bearing

4. Assemble puller/installer tool with axle shaft flange as shown in the illustration
5. Pull axle shaft flange into bearing
6. Install rear axle shaft, tighten twelve point collared nut to: 320 Nm

Secure with Loctite 574, or equivalent, sealing compound

7. Install brake components
8. Install wheel
