On models with ASR, using a suitable press tube, push deep-groove ball bearing into place on connecting flange

On all models use a new selective locking ring to retain connecting flange to differential side gear
-
Check and adjust connecting flange axial play as follows:

Measure axial play between connecting flange (33a) and differential side gear (17)

If not to specification of (0.03 to 0.30 mm) choose a new selective lock ring (30a)

Lock rings (30a) are available in thicknesses ranging from 1.40 to 2.70 mm in 0.50 mm graduations

Clean sealing surfaces for end cover and coat with Hylomar sealer part No. 001 989 25 20, or equivalent

Use new collared bolts to retain end cover and tighten to: 50 Nm
