In order to use these services, a communications module authorized for a given service must be present in the emergency call system control unit
(N123/4). This means that, as a first step, the communications module in the emergency call system control unit (N123/4) must preconfigured at the
factory with the telephone number of the corresponding service provider. In a second step, the user must be authorized with this telephone number in the
service center. This authorization is also pre-completed to a certain extent at the factory.

The telematics services are activated by pressing the corresponding button in the MB-Info and breakdown assistance button group (S93/6) or by placing
a manual emergency call by pressing the SOS pushbutton switch (S93/3) in the overhead control panel control unit (N70). After the services are
activated, the emergency call system control unit (N123/4) sends an SMS to the service center. Once an SMS has been sent, a voice connection to the
service center is immediately established.

Misuse of emergency call alarm is subject to punishment.

Behavior of status indicator in SOS pushbutton switch (S93/3)

The status indicator in the SOS pushbutton switch (S93/3) is used to check the function of the TELE AID system.

Every time the TELE AID system is switched on the status indicator comes on for approx. 4 s and signals the readiness for TELE AID for an emergency
call. Then the status indicator goes out. If a TELE AID emergency call is activated, the status display begins flashing (0.5 s on, 0.5 s off, ...) and a
