^
When the vehicle owner change
^
After a period of 3 months has elapsed since the last authorization
The following is checked via the mobile telephone during the authorization:
^

^
if the system functions properly (position specification).
If the system is not authorized, EMERGENCY CALL does not function.
If the system is not authorized, no E-call is possible.
The indicator lamp in the E-call pushbutton switch comes on and an error message appears in the instrument cluster's display (see picture above).
Authorization during initial startup:
Authorization is accomplished via a telephone call to the E-call center
Authorization sequence
The Mercedes-Benz service station notifies the DBTJ about the date of the initial startup.
There the transmission for the authorization message for the corresponding vehicle is prepared.
Circuit 15R on the vehicle should be switched on for authorization. The actual authorization is accomplished automatically and has a duration of approx.
2 minutes.
To ensure a trouble-free operation, the following should be avoided during authorization:
^
switching off an emergency alarm actuation or
^
switch off circuit 15R or
^
set Emergency call to diagnostic mode (using the handheld tester)
Deauthorization
When the vehicle owner changes, the EMERGENCY CALL system must be deauthorized before handing over the vehicle to avoid any misuse. The
DBJT should also be notified for deauthorization.
