Roll Bar/Vario Roof Hydraulic Unit, Location/Purpose/Design/Function

Purpose

Building up pressure and distribution of the hydraulic fluid via the RVC valve block (Y55/1) to the hydraulic cylinders

Design

The following are integrated into or attached to the RVC hydraulic unit (A7/5)

Relay (A7/5k1)

-

Electric motor (A7/5m1)

-

Overload protection thermocouple (A7/5b1)

RVC valve block (Y55/1)

Hydraulic Unit For Rollover Bar/Vario Roof Function

Motor (A7/5m1), function

The motor (A7/5m1) actuates the hydraulic pump of the rollover bar and Vario roof system. If required it is switched on and off by the UVS control
module (N52) via the relay (A7/5k1).

Temperature sensor (A7/5M), function

The temperature sensor (A7/5b1) is installed at the motor (A7/5m1) which serves for monitoring the hydraulic pump temperature.

Relay (A7/5k1), function

The relay (A7/5k1) is actuated by the UVS control module (N52) and switches the motor (A7/5m1) for the hydraulic unit on and off.

Lowering emergency actuation load assist, function

It is possible to relieve the system pressure from the two load assist cylinders via the Alien screw (a). When folded together the Vario roof drops to the
end position in the trunk under its own weight.

UVS valve block (Y55/1), function

With the aid of the solenoid valve of the UVS valve block (Y55/1) pressure is applied to the hydraulic cylinders of moving the Vario roof in and out:

Main solenoid valve (Y55/1y1)
Rollover bar raised solenoid valve (Y55/1y2)
Close Vario roof solenoid valve (Y55/1y3)
Open Vario roof solenoid valve (Y55/1y4)
Tubular frame and Vario roof locks solenoid valve (Y55/1y5)
Load assist solenoid valve (Y55/1y6)

NOTE:  The individual solenoid valves of the UVS valve block (Y55/1) are actuated by the UVS control module (N52) and monitored for wiring
discontinuity, short circuit to ground or circuit 30.
