Function sequence

1. The "ON" button on the STH radio remote control transmitter (A8/3) was used to activate heater operation.

2. The telephone antenna (A2/22 or A2/49a1) registers the cut-in signal and forwards it to the STH radio remote control receiver (A6/1).

On vehicles with telephone, the cut-in signal recorded by the telephone antenna (A2/22 or A2/49a1) is passed on to the STH radio remote control
receiver (A6/1) via an antenna splitter. On model 230 as of 1.6.04 the correct reception of the cut-in signal by the STH radio remote control
receiver (A6/1) is confirmed on the STH radio remote control transmitter (A8/3) by an LED.

If the radio connection is OK, the LED illuminates with a steady green light for approx. 2 seconds after the time of signal transmission. If the radio
connection is not OK, the LED flashes green for approx. 2 seconds.

3. The STH radio remote control receiver (A6/1) actuates the STH control unit or the STH or HB [ZUH] control unit (A6n1) directly with the

"stationary heater ON" signal via the STH switch (N72s12 or S46).

4. The STH control unit or STH or HB [ZUH] control unit (A6n1) recognizes the cut-in signal and starts the heating or ventilation inquiry in the

control and operating unit (N18, N22 or N22/7) via CAN-B (CAN-B).

5. The control and operating unit (N18, N22 or N22/7) compares the current interior temperature with the preset temperature value.

6.1 If the interior temperature is less than the preset temperature value, the control and operating unit (N18, N22 or N22/7) transmits the "Heating"

signal to the STH control unit or the STH or HB [ZUH] control unit (A6n1) via CAN-B (CAN-B) and switches to stationary heating mode.
The STH control unit or the STH or HB [ZUH] control unit (A6n1) triggers the operation of the STH heater unit (A6) or the STH or HB [ZUH]
heater unit (A6). The indicator lamp in the STH switch (N72s12 or S46) indicates by means of a steady light that heating mode has been
triggered.

6.2 If the interior temperature is greater than the preset temperature value, the control and operating unit (N18, N22 or N22/7) transmits the

"Ventilation" signal to the STH control unit (A6n1) or the STH or HB [ZUH] control unit (A6n1) via CAN-B (CAN-B) and switches to
stationary ventilation mode.

The STH control unit (A6n1) or the STH or HB [ZUH] control unit (A6n1) triggers stationary ventilation and sends the "blower On" signal to the
control and operating unit (N18, N22 or N22/7).
The indicator lamp in the STH switch (N72s12 or S46) indicates by flashing on and off that stationary ventilation has been triggered.

When the ignition is switched on, after triggering the heating mode the STH control unit or the STH or HB [ZUH] control unit (A6n1) starts, as with
the ignition switched off, the heating or ventilation inquiry in the control and operating unit (N18, N22 or N22/7). In this case the control and
operating unit (N18, N22 or N22/7) records the signal from the STH control unit or STH or HB [ZUH] control unit (A6n1) and always answers with
the "heating" signal and continues its standard operating mode.

When the ignition is switched off and heating mode continues to remain active, the signal acquired causes the control and operating unit (N18, N22 or
N22/7) to change modes automatically.

This then switches to stationary heating or stationary ventilation mode depending on the interior temperature. The output of a further signal by the STH
control unit or the STH or HB [ZUH] control unit (A6n1) is therefore not necessary.
