With the exception of the cigar lighter illumination (R3e1), illumination is provided by LEDs.

Only the switch lighting can be dimmed. The setting is performed using the instrument lighting dimmer and reset button (A1r1).

If an alarm is triggered by the anti-theft alarm system (ATA), the front dome lamp is switched on without being dimmed. If the alarm is canceled, the
lamp is again switched off.

Actuation

In the event of an ATA alarm, the message "ATA switch interior lamp on" is transmitted by the driver-side SAM control module (N10/10) over
the interior CAN.

The overhead control panel control module (N70) reads this message and operates the dome lamp (N70e1).

The surround lamp (A67e3) is a powerful LED, which is located in the inside rearview mirror unit (A67). Its purpose is to illuminate the center console.

Switching surround lamp on/off

The surround lamp is switched on automatically when circuit 15R is ON circuit 15R is OFF . and switched off automatically when circuit 15R is OFF .

Actuation

The surround lamp (A67e3) is operated directly by the overhead control panel control module (N70). The overhead control panel control module (N70)
receives the information "circuit 15R status" from the EIS control module (N73) over CAN for this purpose.

The surround lamp is not dependent on the lights on sensor (B32/1) and the position of the switch for door contact ON and OFF (N70s3).
