Front Wheel Hub Removal and Installation

DANGER:

-

Risk of injury Body parts may become jammed or crushed. Risk of injury to Skin and eyes may be injured due to brake fluid spraying
out at high pressure when working on the SBC brake system

-

Deactivate SBC brake system using STAR DIAGNOSIS.

-

Risk of death. Death may result if vehicle slips or topples from the lifting platform.

-

Align vehicle between the columns of the lifting platform and position the four support plates at the lifting platform support points
specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

CAUTION:

-

When carrying out service and repair operations on the front axle, always take great care to prevent leaving scratches, notches or fissures
in the aluminum components. Otherwise the service life of the parts will be affected

Deactivate SBC brake system using STAR DIAGNOSIS.

Remove front wheel

Remove brake disk

Pull off hub cap (9e)

Release hexagon socket head bolt (9i), unscrew clamping nut (9d) and remove outer tapered roller bearing (9m).

NOTE:  Installation:  Adjust wheel bearing play

Pull off front wheel hub (9).

NOTE:
-

If front wheel hub is firmly attached (9), detach front wheel hub (9) with slide hammer puller.

Installation:
-

Rub grease on the radial sealing ring as well as in the space in between sealing lip and outer tapered roller bearing (9m), refill if necessary.
Push front wheel hub (9) with inner tapered roller bearing and radial sealing ring onto steering knuckle pin (5a).

Pack front wheel hub (9) with grease.

Testing
