Auxiliary Water Pump: Service and Repair

AR83.25-P-1170R Remove/Install/Replace Coolant Circulation Pump

DANGER:

-

Risk of injury to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolant spray. Risk of poisoning from swallowing coolant.

Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature Is below 90 degrees C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour
coolant into beverage bottles.

Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and eye protection.

Relieve pressure in cooling system.

NOTE:
1. Rotate expansion reservoir sealing cover to notch "1" and lock again.
2. Installation:  Check coolant level and top up if necessary.

Detach lower engine compartment paneling

NOTE:  Only engine compartment paneling under radiator, outer right.

Attach damps to coolant hoses (2) and tighten
See "Special Tools" given below.

Slacken hose clamps (1) and remove coolant hoses (2)

NOTE:
1. Collect escaping coolant.
2. Installation:  Check coolant hoses and hose clamps for damage and replace parts if necessary.

Remove electrical connector (4) from hot water recirculation pump (M13)

Unscrew nuts (3)

Remove hot water circulation pump (M13)

Install in the reverse order.
