high beam function. The high beam function is only permissible if the driving lamps have been activated via the rotary light switch (S1).

National version (Canada):
If the rotary light switch (S1) the "auto" switch position and the automatic light switch daylight sensor (up to 31.5.04) or the rain/ light sensor (as from
1.6.04) does not detect darkness, then if the daytime running lamps are active only the left low beam (E1e2) and the right low beam (E2e2) are actuated
while dimmed.

If the vehicle is at a standstill the daytime running lamps are switched off after 3 min. If the automatic light switch daylight sensor (up to 31.5.04) or the
rain/light sensor (as from 1.6.04) detects darkness, then the left standing and parking lamp (E1e3) and the right standing and parking lamp (E2e3) remain
active.
