Removing And Installing Oil Pan

Disconnect ground cable of battery, connect

DANGER:
-

Risk of injury to skin and eyes from scalding with hot coolant which splashes out Risk of poisoning from swallowing coolant.

-

Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 degrees C. Open cap slowly and release pressure. Do not pour
coolant into beverage bottles.

Wear protective gloves, protective clothes and eye protection.

Drain coolant

CAUTION:  See notes on coolant.

Drain engine oil, pour in

Detach fan shroud (3) from fixtures and place over fan

Models with fan shroud

NOTE: Installation:  Align fan shroud (3) to fan.

Detach charge air lines (4, 5) at left and right of supercharger

NOTE:  Unclip left charge air line (5) at hot film mass air flow sensor (5a), detach right charge air line (4) at supercharger (6).

Remove intake air scoop (7)

Pull air cleaner housing (8) out of fixtures at body

Unbolt electric cable at circuit 30 terminal block, left footwell (X4)

Unbolt exhaust at exhaust manifold

Unbolt support for exhaust bracket and transmission

Model 202, 208

Unplug connector of oil level sensor (S43)

Detach coolant hoses at coolant thermostat housing

Model 170

Pinch off hose for oil return flow to power steering pump and detach hose

14

Unscrew bolts (11) at bottom of front engine mounts.
