Battery Cable: Service and Repair

Disconnect Ground Lead From Battery

1.1 Open engine hood
1.2 Remove rear seat
1.3 Fold rear seat cushion forwards and remove battery compartment cover
1.4 Flip up trunk cover
1.5 Remove cargo space cover
1.6 Remove battery cover on right-hand side in trunk

Disconnect ground cable of battery

NOTE:  Models 163, 210: To protect against unwanted contact of the disconnected ground line (1) with the ground point W10 (model 210) or
W16/4 (model 163), insulate cable lug of the ground line.
