Machining Valve Seat Rings

Remove valves

Inspect valve guide
-

if necessary after inspecting, replace valve guide.

Machine valve seats

NOTE:  Pay attention to operating instructions of machining tool manufacturer. Maintain dimensions as stated in inspection and setting data.

Inspect valve seat for leaks, Measure valve seat width

If necessary, correct valve seat width (angle alpha and beta)

Measure distance from valve stem end to camshaft bearing base

NOTE:  Insert diameter 6 mm round material into middle of camshaft bearing base and measure dimension with caliper gage.

CAUTION:  If measurement is less than minimum dimension, no correct valve clearance compensation is possible, replace valve seat
rings.

Install in the reverse order.
