Rear Bumper: Procedures

AZ88.00-P-0001-03V Convert Rear Bumper

1. Install tow hook cover (9) in rear bumper (1) and hook in catch strap (8) from parts kit.

2. Clip inner section (7) into rear bumper (1) and fasten with clips (6) on left and right each.
3. Fasten supporting plates (5) with clips (4) on left and right each.

Supporting plates (5) are different for the left and right side.

4. Insert center impact absorber (10) from parts set into inner section (7).
5. Insert left impact absorber (2) and right impact absorber (3) from parts kit into inner section (7).

6.1. Vehicles with code (220a) Parktronic system (PTS)

Clip vehicle's own right outer sensor, rear bumper (A43b7), right inner sensor, rear bumper (A43b8), left inner sensor, rear bumper (A43b9)
and left outer sensor, rear bumper (A43b10) into present brackets on rear bumper.

Ensure that the decoupling rings are installed on the PTS sensors.

Route PTS wiring harness sensors in present cutouts of center impact absorber (10) and connector to PTS sensors.

The rear bumper PTS connector (X35/28) should be routed along the right side of the rear bumper (1).
