Model 170.447/449/465/466 Brake Lights Not Functioning

Model 170.447 - If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles of the brake light(s) not functioning, check VMI to see if Recall Campaign
P-RC-2006080005, dated September 22, 2006, has been performed.  If the Recall Campaign has not been performed, complete campaign.  If the Recall
Campaign has been performed, test all other components and wiring in the brake light circuit for the cause.  If no other issues are found, open a TAC
case before replacing the brake light socket or rear lamp assembly.

Model 170.449/465/466 - If you receive customer reports in the above model vehicles of the brake light(s) not functioning, excessive heat may have
deformed the bulb socket in the rear lamps (Figures 1 and 2).  Due to the deformation, the electrical path from the bulb socket contact to the "wiring
track" on the bulb holder may be intermittently interrupted.  It is not necessary to replace the rear lamp assembly. Replace only the bulb socket and bend
up the contacts as shown by the white marks (Figure 3).

NOTE:  

The above repair is only an interim solution.  Models 170.449/465/466 will also be included in Recall Campaign P-RC-2000608005 as soon as
replacement tail lamp assemblies are available.
