Compression ring side clearance measurement

Measure vertical clearance between compression ring and mounting groove in piston with a feeler gauge for the compression ring concerned;
replace compression ring or piston if necessary.

The vertical clearance of the oil scraper ring cannot be measured because of its three part structure. The oil scraper ring must be replaced along
with the compression rings.
