GF82.85-P-3004SKA Data Exchange Between Operating Unit And Instrument Cluster, Function
- with CODE (527) COMAND APS with single DVD drive (with navigation)
Operation of the COMAND operating, display and control module (A40/3) on the multifunction steering wheel
With the aid of the multifunction steering wheel as well as the upper multifunction display (A1p13) of the instrument cluster (A1) various systems can be
operated via the media-oriented system transport (MOST) and information displayed to the systems.
These include:
^
Audio systems (radio, CD drive)
^
Telephone
^
Navigation system
The entire data exchange between the instrument cluster (A1) and the COMAND operating, display and control module (A40/3) is performed via the
local interconnect network (LIN) bus, the MOST and the controller area network bus class B (interior) (CAN-B).
All button operations on the multifunction steering wheel are read in voltage-coded by the steering column module (N80) via the LIN bus and placed on
the interior CAN interior bus (CAN-B). The instrument cluster (A1) recognizes the coded messages and initiates display of the momentarily activated or
operated systems (Audio or telephone) via the upper multifunction display (A1p13) In parallel with this, the audio gateway control module (N93/1) picks
up the commands for controlling the functions within the MOST system, converts these into light pulses and with them actuates the necessary system
components.
