Component Identification

The front passenger seat occupied and child seat recognition sensor consists of a sensor mat with the attendant electronic analysis system (2).
The following are located in the sensor mat:

Transmitting antenna for automatic child seat recognition (3)

Receiving antenna for automatic child seat recognition (4)

The film pressure sensors (1) are distributed across the entire seat surface. The left and right-hand halves of the sensor mat each have a transmitter
antenna for child seat recognition (3) and a receiving antenna for child seat recognition (4) integrated onto the resistor structure.

Seat occupied recognition sensor

If the front passenger seat is occupied by a person, the pressure load of the seat area increases. This changes the resistance of the force sensing resistors
in the sensor mat. If the pressure on the seat surface exceeds a defined value, the electronic analysis system detects that the front passenger seat is
occupied by a person and transmits an "occupied" signal to the restraint systems control unit (N2/7). The seat occupation status is continuously
monitored. After the load on the front passenger seat has been removed, the occupied signal is retained for approximately 2 min. The signal is retained to
