Front Steering Knuckle: Testing and Inspection

Measure Steering Knuckle (removed)

Shown On Right Steering Knuckle

Removing and installing steering knuckle

Place steering knuckle with installed wheel hub or brake disk on parallel supports

3

Measure and note height dimension "A" as a comparative measurement with a height marking device

4

Measure and note height dimension "B1" to "B3" at the lowest point of the corresponding bore.

NOTE:  The test values are calculated from the difference between height dimension "A" and the height dimensions:
-

"B1"= Bearing of supporting joint

-

"B2"= Bearing of upper transverse control arm

-

"B3"= Bearing of steering knuckle arm/track rod
