The internal speed sensor (VGS) (Y3/8n2) records the internal transmission speed at the ring gear of the front single planetary gear system for the
fully integrated transmission control (VGS).

Together with the information from the turbine speed sensor (VGS) (Y3/8n1) and from the output speed sensor (VGS) (Y3/8n3) this rpm is processed
as an input signal by the fully integrated transmission control unit (VGS) (Y3/8n4). This contributes to shortening the reaction time during shift
operations.

Component Identification

A permanently magnetized pole wheel (ring magnet (1)) and the turbine speed sensor (VGS) (Y3/8n1), which consists of magnetoresistive elements,
are used to record the turbine speed. A magnetoresistive element changes its resistance under the influence of a magnetic field. The ring magnet (1) is
stuck onto an aluminum ring plate and is connected with a ring gear of the Ravigneaux set.

Magnetic field changes occur due to the rotary motion of the ring gear and as a result a resistance change occurs in the magneto resistive elements An
electronic analysis system transmits this information to the fully integrated transmission control (VGS) control unit (Y3/8n4). By using this speed
recording system the measurement can take place over a greater distance than with the Hall sensor.
