CAUTION: The depth stop MUST NOT exceed 1/2 inch, as damage to the carpet (or top side reinforcement in Procedure "B" will occur).

Drill only the first row of holes, (5, 6, 7, and 8) starting at the front of the reinforcement and continue drilling to the rear. See Figure 6 for drilling
sequence.

Install pop rivets (383798-S7-8) using Rotunda Blind Fastener Installation Tool 107-00600 in each of the drilled holes - 5,6,7, and 8. If is
important to remove the carpet backing (jute) from the drilled hole prior to rivet installation.
9.
Continue the drilling and riveting for each row until the reinforcement is fully attached. Do not drill or rivet drain holes (shown in Figure 6).

Apply a continuous bead of 3M Joint and Seam Sealer (051135-08648) along the edge of the reinforcement and the underbody. See Figure 7.
11.
Apply Super Seal Anti-Corrosion Compound to entire repair area including the rivet heads on rocker panel.
