Radio/Stereo: Description and Operation
With the Ignition Switch in the ACCY or RUN position, current flows through the AUDIO fuse to operate the Radio.
The HLM fuse of the Main Fuse Panel, applies voltage to the Radio at all times to power the memory related functions, which retain the memory
portions with the Radio turned off.
Panel dimming is controlled by the Panel Lamp Control Module. A variable voltage is applied through the W wire to control the panel lamp's brightness.
The display's brightness is controlled by the Panel Lamp Control Module. When the Parking or Headlamps are turned on, battery voltage is applied from
the TAIL fuse to the Panel Lamp Control Module. Current now flows to the Radio and dims the display.
When the Parking or Headlamps are turned off, battery voltage is now applied to the Audio System Relay through the AUDIO fuse. Voltage is applied to
the Radio and the display brightens.
Premium Sound
The Premium Sound System feature incorporates a Radio with Cassette Deck and a four channel Amplifier. Voltage is applied to the Amplifier from the
AUDIO fuse when the Ignition Switch is in RUN or ACCY. The Amplifier is grounded through the Radio and G202. The Radio provides an audio signal
for each channel provided by the Radio and supplies it to the individual speakers.
