Vacuum Delay Valve: Description and Operation
The Vacuum Delay Valve (VDV) is usually located within the vacuum hose routing or harness assembly. These valves are designed to decrease the rate
at which vacuum is applied to or released from a component.
Types Of Vacuum Delay Valves
There are three basic types of Delay Valves
VACUUM DELAY VALVE (VDV) - Delays the application of vacuum to a vacuum-operated component.
VACUUM RETARD DELAY VALVE (VRDV) - Delays the loss of a vacuum signal to a component when source vacuum decreases suddenly. May be
used to delay the release of vacuum from any diaphragm as a momentary trap for vacuum.
TWO-WAY DELAY VALVE (DV-TW) - Delays vacuum equally in either direction. This valve is commonly used in evaporative emission controls and
can be inserted in the vacuum line in either direction.
