Knock Sensor: Description and Operation
Knock Sensor (KS)
The Knock Sensor (KS) is a frequency amplifier capable of measuring vibration. This allows relatively large signals to be sent to the Electronic Control
Assembly (ECA), when engine knocking occurs due to overboost by the turbocharger system. The ECA uses this information to alter ignition timing and
reducing the occurance of spark detonation.
