Inspection Procedure

Two separate repair procedures are used, "A" and "B". Follow the inspection procedure to determine which repair, "A" or "B" is to be used.

NOTE:

Part number E5ZZ-6111248-A (driver's side) and E5ZZ-6111248-B (passenger's side) must be used to perform the inspection.

Raise the vehicle on hoist.

Locate the rear seat track attachment for the seats and inspect for cracks. Use a wire brush to clean the surface to locate any hairline cracks.

NOTE:

If no cracks are found, the technician should refer to Car Shop Manual, Section 41-01 for further diagnosis of the seat rocking condition.

Position and hold reinforcement against the floor pan's underside as shown in Figure 1. Check to see if the reinforcement covers all the cracks. If
the reinforcement covers all the cracks, the technician should use Repair Procedure "A". If the reinforcement does not cover all the cracks, the
technician should use Repair Procedure "B".
