To improve adjustment capability of the upper grille opening panel to the hood, the pop rivet at the upper outer grille opening panel to the grille opening
reinforcement was eliminated in production effective Job 1, 1985. This pop rivet was replaced by a "U" nut, screw and washer. Since the hole size in the
grille opening reinforcement has been increased to accommodate the "U" nut, a pop rivet cannot be used in service to attach the grille opening at this
location. See Figure 1 for additional details.
