V6 & V8 ENGINES
1.
Drain cooling system and remove radiator and grille.
2.
If equipped with air conditioning:
a. On 255 and 302 engines, remove condenser retaining bolts and position condenser aside without disconnecting refrigerant lines.
b. On V6-232 engine, purge refrigerant from system and remove condenser.
3.
Remove front cover, timing chain and sprockets.
4.
Remove intake manifold.
5.
Remove pushrods and lifters.
6.
On V6-232 engine, remove oil pan.
7.
On all models, remove thrust plate, then carefully remove camshaft by pulling toward front of engine, Fig. 28. Use care to avoid damaging
camshaft bearings.
8.
Reverse procedure to install.
