ELECTRONIC CONTROL ASSEMBLY (EEC PROCESSOR) INCORRECT PART NUMBER
FORD 1985 MUSTANG, LTD, CROWN VICTORIA
LINCOLN-MERCURY 1985 CAPRI, LINCOLN TOWN CAR, GRAND MARQUIS
From February 1985 to April 1985, the Electronic Control Assemblies (EEC processor - 12A650) installed at the vehicle assembly plants were identified
with incorrect part numbers. These processors have the correct catch word (tear tag), the correct components and calibration for the vehicles on which
they were installed.
The catchword is a double alpha code used by the assembly plants to identify the processor. The code is printed on a stick-back paper tag (tear tag).
Normal quick test and pinpoint procedures are to be used to diagnose engine drive concerns.
Do not replace a processor that appears to have the incorrect part number until the number is verified in the chart below. When ordering a replacement
processor, refer to the calibration chart in the parts catalog. Do not use the part number from the original part.
