Power Steering Pump: Service and Repair
Removal and Installation
1.
Disconnect power steering pump return line and allow power steering pump fluid to drain into a suitable container.
2.
Disconnect power steering pump pressure hose from pump fitting.
3.
Disconnect drive belt from power steering pump pulley, remove pulley, then remove pump.
4.
Reverse procedure to install. Torque pump to mounting bracket bolts to 30---45 ft. lbs. On Ford model CII power steering pump, torque
pressure hose to pump fitting to 10---15 ft. lbs. Endplay on this fitting is normal and does not indicate a loose fitting.
