Evaporator Core: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

1. Remove the heater/evaporator core housing.

2. Separate the blower motor/evaporator housing.

3. Separate the heater/evaporator housing.

1. Remove the bolts.
2. Remove the rubber seal.
3. Remove the nut and the cover.

Unclip the vacuum hose.

-

Disconnect the housing parts.

4. Remove the evaporator.

INSTALLATION

NOTE:

-

Install new O-rings and coat them with refrigerant oil.

-

When installing a new evaporator, install the gaskets as they were on the old evaporator.

1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
2. Service the new evaporator core with the correct amount of PAG Compressor Oil YN-12-C or equivalent meeting Ford specification

WSH-M1C231-B. See:  Refrigerant Oil Addition.

3. Evacuate and refill the A/C system.

Check the air conditioning system for normal operation.
