Tie Rod End: Service and Repair

Removal
1. Raise and support vehicle.
2. Loosen the tie-rod end locknut and remove the retaining nut.
1. Loosen the locknut.
2. Remove the retaining nut.
3. NOTE: When the tie-rod end is separated from the wheel knuckle the ball joint seal should be protected to prevent damage.
Using the special tool, detach the tie-rod end from the wheel knuckle.
4. NOTE: Make a note of the number of turns required to remove the tie-rod end.
Remove the tie-rod end and locknut.
