Cougar V6-153 2.5L DOHC VIN L SFI (2001)
1. Using the special tool, install the differential seal.
2. Install LH/RH halfshafts.
3. Install the transaxle drain plug.
4. Remove the drain pan and lower the vehicle.
5. Add Motorcraft MERCON(R) Multi-purpose automatic transmission fluid or equivalent meeting MERCON(R) specification. MERCON(R)
Automatic Transmission Fluid is being replaced by MERCON(R) V as a service fluid, as per TSB 06-14-4.
6. Start the engine and move the transaxle range selector lever through all gear positions. Refill as necessary.
7. Allow the transmission fluid to reach operating temperature and fill as necessary.
8. Test drive the vehicle.
