3. Remove and discard the snap ring.

4. Using the special tools pull off the tripod assembly.

Remove the boot.

5. CAUTION:  Do not damage the bearing cage.

NOTE:  Halfshaft joint at the wheel end only.

Loosen the halfshaft joint at the wheel end.
1. Cut the boot clamps and remove them. Slide the boot back.
2. Unseat the halfshaft joint from the snap ring seat using a brass drift.

6. NOTE:  halfshaft joint at the wheel end only.

Remove the halfshaft joint.
1. Remove the halfshaft joint.
2. Remove snap ring.
