Shift Cable: Service and Repair

Gearshift Cables 

Removal 

1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Raise and support the vehicle. 

3. Remove the LH inner fender splash shield.

Remove the bolts.

4. Disconnect the shift cable and the selector cable from the gearshift lever and the gear selector lever on the transaxle.

Remove the shift cable from the bracket by twisting the bracket counterclockwise, and pull it downward out of the engine compartment.

Lower the vehicle.

5. Remove the Air Cleaner (ACL). 

1. Disconnect the Mass Air Flow (MAF) electrical connector.
2. Loosen the hose clamp.
3. Disconnect the vacuum hose.
4. Unhook the rubber retainer.

Remove the intake hose.
