Cut tube at mid-length and install "T" bleed and filter assembly part number E171-6C600-A (Figure 4)

15.

Install PCV tube.

Start engine arid check for fuel leak

Check and re-set idle speeds as per 1982 Car/Truck Shop Manual - Engine/Emissions Diagnosis

18.

Install air cleaner assembly.

B. Transmission RE-Work - Automatic Only (2-06A)

Label For High Attitude Operation

1.

Raise the vehicle on a hoist.

2.

Remove the transmission vacuum diaphragm attaching bolt, clip, and vacuum hose.

3.

Remove and discard the production diaphragm (part number E1ZZ-7A377-B, SAD) black stripe on yellow anodized metal.

4.

Install altitude compensating diaphragm part number E1ZZ-7A377-A, HAD, black dipped end cap.

5.

Install the attaching clip and bolt and torque to specification. Re-attach vacuum hoses.

6.

Lower vehicle.

7.

Obtain a Vehicle Emission Control Information Update Label (available at all Ford or Lincoln-Mercury dealers) and fill in the appropriate
information and install as indicated in image.

The customer should retain the removed main metering jet.

Adjustments For Vehicle Returning To Continuous Sea Level Operation to revert to the sea level calibration, reinstall the original primary main metering
jet.  If the customer does not retain this jet, the chart below lists the necessary jet to return the carburetor to sea level operation:
In addition, a crankcase vent hose D9FZ-6A664-A is installed in place of the vent hose with the air bleed. The altitude compensating diaphragm added to
the automatic transmission need not be replaced. Remove the Vehicle Emission Control Information Update Label.
