Windnoise between the door seal surface and the weatherstrip at the lower cowl on Mark VII, Thunderbird and Cougar vehicles may be caused by
an incorrect radius on the seal surface of the door which does not permit the weatherstrip to adequately seal when the door is closed. This can be
corrected by shimming the weatherstrip rearward with a piece of foam tape as shown in Figure 4.
1.
Obtain one piece of foam tape 1/4" thick x 3/4" wide x 5" long.
2.
Lift the bulb section of weatherstrip rearward for approximately five inches directly above the courtesy light switch.
