Turn Signal Switch: Description and Operation
DESCRIPTION
The multi-function switch, mounted to the lock cylinder housing, unifies the following functions:
^
windshield washer/wiper.
^
headlamp flash-to-pass and high beam.
^
turn signal.
^
hazard flashers.
NORMAL OPERATION
The multi-function switch, located on the LH side of the upper steering column, operates in the following manner:
^
Ignition switch must be in the RUN position to operate turn signals for a full turn.
^
Move the turn signal lever to the end-of-travel position for the turn desired.
^
The turn indicator cancel cam will cancel the turn signal when the turn is completed.
LANE CHANGE FEATURE
The lane change feature operates as follows:
^
Move and hold the turn signal lever to the first stop position when changing lanes.
^
Release the lever and it will return to its normal position when the lane change maneuver is completed.
