Wiper Motor: Service and Repair

REMOVAL 

1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.

CAUTION:  The internal permanent magnets used in the windshield wiper motor are a ceramic (glass-like) material. Care must be exercised in
handling the windshield wiper motor to avoid damaging the magnets. The windshield wiper motor must not be struck or tapped with a hammer or
other object.

2. Remove windshield wiper assembly.
3. Remove the three nuts retaining windshield wiper motor. Remove the windshield wiper motor from the windshield wiper assembly.

INSTALLATION 

1. Follow removal procedure in reverse order.

NOTE:

Before installing the windshield wiper pivot arm and windshield wiper blade assembly to the windshield wiper pivot shaft, cycle
windshield wiper motor and turn off multi-function switch to make sure that windshield wiper motor is in PARK position.

When installing the drive arm to a new windshield wiper motor, follow the instructions included with the new windshield wiper motor.
