This TSB article is being republished in its entirety to include Standard Duty front seats which also may have been misassembled.
ISSUE:
The front seat(s) cushion pad support spring "Flex-o-lator" may sag and not provide adequate support which results in occupant discomfort. This occurs
because the "Flex-o-lator" may have been mis-fabricated and installed to the cushion frame with the wrong side up. Under occupant pressure, the integral
tabs on the frame rails bend upward and may break. This causes the "Flex-o-lator" spring to loosen and "creep" away from the frame.
ACTION:
if service is required, use the following service procedure to correct front seat cushion sag and inadequate support.
PROCEDURE TO CORRECT FRONT SEAT CUSHION SAG/INADEQUATE SUPPORT
1.
Remove the complete front seat and track assembly from the vehicle. Refer to the 1992 Crown Victoria/Grand Marquis Service Manual, Section
01-10B, for removal procedure. Turn the seat on its side.
