1.
On Taurus SHO models, disconnect battery ground cable, then remove ECU and mounting bracket from hydraulic control unit (HCU).
2.
On all models except Taurus SHO, disconnect battery cables and remove battery and tray.
3.
Remove plastic pushpins holding acid shield to HCU mounting bracket, then remove acid shield, Fig. 150.
4.
On all models, disconnect 19-pin connector from HCU wiring harness, then disconnect 4-pin connector from HCU motor pump relay.
5.
Remove two tubes from inlet ports and four tubes from outlet ports of HCU, then plug each port to prevent spilling.
6.
Remove relay mounting bracket attaching nut.
7.
Remove attaching nuts retaining HCU assembly to mounting bracket, then remove assembly.
8.
Reverse procedure to install. Torque mounting brackets nuts to 16-24 ft. lbs.
