By-Pass Air (BPA) Valve: Service and Repair

Air Bypass Valve

REMOVAL

-

Disconnect electrical connector from air bypass valve assembly.

 

-

Remove the two bypass valve retaining bolts.

-

Remove air bypass valve and gasket.

INSTALLATION

-

Clean gasket mating surfaces.
NOTE:  If scraping is necessary, DO NOT damage air bypass valve or intake manifold gasket surfaces. Avoid dropping gasket material into
manifold passages.

Install a new gasket and air bypass valve.

-

Install retaining screws and tighten to 6-8.8 ft lb (8-12 Nm).

Connect electrical connector to air bypass valve assembly.
