When replacing the brake booster on the subject vehicles the vacuum supply hose must be routed as shown in the 1983 shop manual, page 12-50-3, and
Figure 10, below.
The difference between 1983 and previous hose routing is that the 83 hose is looped under the master cylinder while the previous routing is direct from
the tee to the check valve at a downward angle. All future service should include looping the hose under the master cylinder. This new routing allows the
hose to act as a moisture trap and will help prevent moisture entry into the booster.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS: Cut the hose from bulk stock approximately 20 inches long.
